A Change in Perspective Can Mean Everything…

This morning I was listening to Good Morning America (GMA) as a part of my normal routine (I know, life is anything but normal right now), & one of my favs – Rachel Hollis – was on streaming live from her home, along with her husband, and had some great advice that I felt was worth filling your in-box with today. Hey, it’s some feel-good advice to consider!

One of the key takeaways for me was when she suggested we change our perspectives from “Why is this happening to me?” to “How can this be for me?”. At first blush, it may seem like such a small change but think about it for a few minutes… it’s really a pretty big deal – this change in perspective.

What’s happening in the world today is going to impact every single one of us in different ways. My story will be different from yours. And yours will be different from your neighbors. Today, my sister has been laid off. My sister-in-law has lost her job. The company my husband works for is going to be dramatically impacted and how that affects us in the days to come is unknown. But, what is known is that our perspectives on how we handle today will affect our outcome tomorrow.

If you are facing the loss of a job – whether it is temporary or not – remember that “what you do is not who you are” (I borrowed this from @rachelhollis this morning – credit goes to her). This is a wonderful time to identify your core values – as a person – aside from what your job is or was and look forward to your future and how that might look different from today. Honestly, I did this 2 years ago (April 2018) & it has brought me to where I am today. Doing what I love to do.

What is happening to our world today is unprecedented. And times are uncertain. But what is certain is there is a rainbow at the end of this storm. Our world will look different. And each of our worlds will look different from the other. But that’s okay.

Be the example for others.

Focus on “How can this be for you & your family!

I’d love to hear how you are doing and get your feedback on the message I have shared.. as inspired by @rachelhollis.

Please feel free to comment or simply “like” if it resonated with you.

Stay Safe & Healthy (and keep washing those hands)!!!

Stacie…Our world is certainly EVOLVING. What once looked like a move to Phoenix is now “on the table” as we certainly will not be able to attend our final walk-through and closing. What this may mean is canceling the purchase and going back to square one. The positive aspect of this is we’re suddenly open to the idea that God has a better idea and maybe we finally learn to simply trust Him.
    We’ll see!

    • James, I am so sorry to hear that. I pray that the plans you had set in place will come to fruition in the near future, as you had hoped. Wishing you and your family all the best!
